Since it was a substantive posting, and since it won't be announced in the green Recent Blog Posts list in the right-hand margin (no comments/replies to blogs are), and since I couldn't assign any tags to my comment (only original blog postings can have tags, not comments and replies), I'm going to announce it in this blog posting of my own. That way it will show up in the green space AND have tags.

We often speak of "mapping the field of CI". For some amazing maps to inspire us: Click on the Venn diagram and the periodic table at

Every person in that Venn diagram is clickable, and every box in the periodic table opens into a graphic display of that method.

The field of CI begs for graphics like this to represent itself in all its (someday coherent) rich diversity.

Or even conceptually integrated graphics like the pattern language for a sustainable society

As George and I brainstormed participants for CIC, we noticed that the overwhelming majority of the first names that came to mind were men. So we consciously brainstormed women who felt significant to/in the field, aware that far fewer of them explicitly focused on collective "intelligence" (our original criteria).

I have begun a project with Peggy Holman, supported by the Kellogg Foundation and the Co-Intelligence Institute, to research evolutionary dynamics that can be used to consciously evolve our social systems.
